A Protein Packed, Vegetable/Fruit Filled, Allergy Free
Brownie that is super yummy?!?!
Wait…how? Read more below and find out!
Disclaimer: At first glance, when you look at the ingredients and what the brownies look like before they bake, they don’t exactly sound yummy. BUT, they are incredible! I made them with regular peanut butter because that is all I had on hand, but they would be really good with any nut, nut free, or hazelnut butter. I also used a vegan chocolate protein powder that contains a ton of fruits, vegetables, and probiotics to make it even healthier for my family, but any chocolate protein powder would do. Also, most of what I used is organic, but that is not at all necessary to make these. Now…on to the good stuff!
*1 Can of Rinsed Chickpeas (Garbanzo) Beans
*2.5 Tbsp. Unsweetened Cocoa
*1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
*1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
*1/2 Cup Peanut Butter (or any nut/nut free butter) (if you use unsalted, add a dash of salt to the recipe)
*1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
*2 tsp. Mexican Vanilla (or Almond Extract) (Do NOT use regular vanilla; Won’t taste the same)
*1/3 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
*1 Large Ripe Avocado
*1 Full Scoop of Chocolate Protein Powder (mine is called Amazing Grass Green Superfood-Chocolate) (This is also really good mixed with any milk!) **(If you use regular chocolate protein powder, you could finely shred a carrot in to add more hidden nutrients)
**Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
**Put all ingredients in a Food Processor and blend very well. It might be a tad grainy, but mostly should be smooth. Blender could work but ingredients are a little too dry for a blender.
**Grease 8×8 Square Pan
**Spread Batter evenly in pan
**Top with Allergy Friendly Chocolate Chips ( or any chocolate chip will do)
**Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 mins.
**Consistency will be slightly different than a typical brownie, but the taste will make up for it.
**Note: You could bake these in a mini muffin tin for an easy, lunch packable dessert!
**If you click to order the Amazing Greens from Amazon, you’ll notice other flavors. I love to mix the Berry Flavor with 8 ounces of water once every day to add more nutrients to my diet!**
